Fragments - Polaroid

The three presented artworks are part of the same artistic approach I titled “Fragments”, in which I created graphical units out of various fragments through an analytical work about shape and colour. These assemblages are often geometric and conveys above all a movement, an energy : this is the expression of my graphic poetic vision.

Fragments 2 - Kapla - painting wood

Kapla - painting wood ; 50*100 cm

This artwork demonstrates well a contrast that we can find in me, but also in so many other places of our modern society : order and energy, that I continuously want to reconcile in a balance manner !

This artwork is composed of painted Kaplas glued together following a regular pattern (it is a construction game for children with wood sticks). Despite this apparent order, I wanted to introduce a dynamic energy : the assemblage shows a general colour movement (a black-blue-red-white wave); moreover, the fact that I put pieces in order through « action painting » (dripping) highlights that real gestures have been captured.

Fragments 3 - Polaroid - collage

This artwork is a collage composed of Z340 Polaroid pictures. I took every snapshot myself in my everyday life for several years. All these pictures treat non-figuratives subjects like a colour, a reflect, a pattern or a contrast ; fragments that I like to shoot when they refer to something graphic or sensible to me. In reality, this assemblage is my poetic self-portrait.
