Kinkaku-ji, or Temple of the Golden Pavilion, pride for japanese people. Located in Kyoto, it is a temple covered with gold and home to Buddha's relics. In a novel by Yukio Mishima, the main character, is obsessed by the beauty of the temple and eventually sets fire to it. Without a doubt, this beauty immediately touches any visitor who looks at the Kinkaku-ji, as well as the wellbeing and tranquillity coming out from it. Here, Kinkaku-ji is stylized and simplified, reduced to its essence. Suppressing the landscape is a way to glorify the temple. Its forms, its colours, glints on water, everything illustrate the serenity of the scene.
